FADev Joins the Government’s Effort in Combating Coronavirus Pandemic in ASM Areas
The Foundation for ASM Development (FADev), is teaming up with the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children in the fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic.
As part of its contribution to the fight against Coronavirus pandemic, FADev has secured 70 sanitation equipment (buckets), 1500 masks 20 dozen boxes of antiseptic handwashing soap to be distributed in the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) areas in Geita and Shinyanga Regions.
The Artisanal and Small-scale mining groups that will be served with this small token towards the fight against Coronavirus spread includes FADev’s partners in the implementation of the ASM Model Mines programs in Ibondo – Geita Rural District, Nyakagwe – Nyang’hwale District, and Musasa – Chato District.
The sanitation equipment and supplies will be donated to other ASM operators in Musasa – Chato, Iyenze Mwasabuka in Kakola and Tanzania Women in Mining Association (TAWOMA) Zonal office in Mwanza for distribution to other ASM areas in Geita and Shinyanga Regions respectively.
The sanitation equipment and supplies distribution activity is scheduled to run from May 30 to June 3, 2020.
This will be followed by on-site Coronavirus awareness creation visits that will be conducted by experts from the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children.
